The nearest airport is Lokpriya Gopinath Bordoloi International Airport (GAU), located approximately 22 km from IIT Guwahati.

The airport is well connected to major cities including Delhi, Kolkata, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Chennai, Hyderabad, Ahmedabad, Pune, Jaipur, Lucknow, and Bhubaneswar, along with extensive connectivity within the North-East region.

Airlines operating include Air India, Air India Express, IndiGo, Akasa Air, SpiceJet, and Alliance Air.
